1 Week Down!

In the first week I was BUSY. Every moment of each day was planned. I worked out each morning, then class from 8-12. At lunch I had something to do each day (buy books, supplies, financial aid) Then class again from 1-5. I would get home and want to be with Pink. Especially since it was here Birthday on Thursday! It was a balancing act because I was in dying need to review and study. The best part of the week is what I learned. I histology we are looking at the intricate ways cells talk and are supported. In OMM we learned how to palpate the skin, superficial fascia, and deep fascia. In biochem we learned how enzymes regulate our bodies in several different ways. At the weeks end I felt comfortable in the med school shoes.

First Day, OMS 1

Well as the saying goes "Thrown into the fire"; here is the basics of our first day. We had 2 biochem lectures and it was my groups biochem workshop day. Then lunch, followed by anatomy lecture and lab in the afternoon. After class SOMA had a BBQ and we played a bit of basketball. Now it is day 2 and we have lectures 3 and 4 in biochem, and OMM lecture/lab in the afternoon. It is college at a faster pace. . The feeling of the first day of school was like no other. Growing up I knew I was always going to go to high school, then college. Medical school has been my path because I dedicated my time and efforts to becoming a good canidate. This time starting school, I was anxious, and had a few butterflys the night before. As I start the first week, I now understand why schools seek out such high demands for admission. To prove to the student that you can go beyond your limits. To become a master in the field you must push yourself even further. If medical school is where you learn to become a physician, I started the frist time I over came an enourmous challenge, and I will finish when I retire. This profession never stops learning, or pushing to higher limits.
